Last nights TV program “The Ugly Face of Beauty” highlights yet again the importance of asking the right questions and having a fully qualified experienced surgeon.
Dr Christian Jessen from the Embarrassing Bodies series looks into both cosmetic surgery in the UK and abroad to assess the advice, quality of surgery (or lack of) and standards of care provided.
This four-part series on Channel 4, cuts right to the edge showing some very unsightly bodies which have had botched surgery and the marketing hype adopted by some companies to clinch the deal with getting new patients on board.
Cosmetic surgery patients urged to seek reputable clinics and surgeons

Surgeons in the UK have reported a significant increase in the number of patients reporting complications arising from cheap cosmetic surgery procedures carried out by unethical clinics abroad. This frightening trend has caused the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) to raise awareness of the dangers involved in seeking cheap treatments overseas.

Being open about cosmetic surgery

There’s always been a lot of debate over whether to be honest when it comes to cosmetic surgery. Many men and women, particularly those in the public eye, seem to struggle with whether or not they want to reveal if they have undergone the knife when their appearance changes.
Due to the remnants of a negative social stigma, many people choose not to, going as far as to flat out lie when asked about it and deny the rumours about whatever procedures they may have had.
Today, Anne Robinson, currently one of the most famous faces on British TV, spoke to The Mirror and subdued the rumours about how her recent promotional photos for her upcoming stint on Watchdog hinted at another facelift.
